The Department of Physics at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in experimental condensed matter physics. The appointment will begin on August 25, 2024. Candidates with demonstrated records in forefront areas of experimental condensed matter physics, including soft and hard condensed matter, are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to establish an outstanding research program that adds significantly to the department's existing strengths in condensed matter physics and to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will have opportunities to interface their research with other programs in Physics and other departments in the College of Art and Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Science, as well as with other institutes across the University, such as Biocomplexity.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in physics or related field, postdoctoral experience, a demonstrated research record, and an aptitude and commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
