CSUSM offers a B.S. in Applied Physics and values teaching undergraduates and involving them in research. CSUSM physics received the 2020 APS Award for Improving Undergraduate Physics Education and INSIGHT Into Diversity’s 2020 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award which recognizes unique and innovative efforts for improving access to STEM for underrepresented students. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper division physics courses and will receive mentorship in effectively adopting evidence-based pedagogies and strategies to enhance student success. The successful candidate will mentor undergraduate research projects and will contribute to activities serving the Department, College, University, and external community.
Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
Committed to exploring the use of research-based instructional practices
Must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community that serves the students of the region.

Salary
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,083 - $6,000 per month
CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,530 - 13,797 per month
