The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in High Energy Physics (HEP) to start in August 2025. The Nebraska HEP group presently consists of three faculty experimentalists (K. Bloom, D. Claes, I. Kravchenko), one faculty theorist (P. Huang), a detector physicist, four postdoctoral researchers, and graduate and undergraduate students. The primary focus of the group is on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The group has significant responsibilities and expertise in the construction of silicon pixel detectors, CMS tracker operations, software and computing operations, and has strong participation in a variety of physics analyses
