The Department of Physics at Smith College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2024. Candidates with a specialization in biophysics are encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. in Physics or a relevant field is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Physics are encouraged to apply. Teaching: Responsibilities for this position include teaching 4 courses per year at a variety of levels within the undergraduate physics curriculum. All members of the department regularly rotate through teaching our introductory sequences with integrated lab and lecture, and teaching one section of an integrated lab/lecture counts as the equivalent of 2 courses (i.e. a full semester load).
