The Department of Physics at Seton Hall University invites applications to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning the Fall 2025 semester. A Ph.D. in Physics or Applied Physics and a research specialization in Engineering is required. Candidates should have expertise and research interests in renewable energy, semiconductor technology, environmental science & engineering, and related topics in materials science & engineering, The candidate is expected to build an on-campus research program, successfully seek sponsored research grants, and involve undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activity. We seek a candidate who demonstrates excellence in teaching lecture and laboratory courses at all levels, especially to students of diverse backgrounds. This position is part of a collaborative STEM hiring initiative between the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science and Physics in the broad areas of applied science and/or engineering, including: computer science, electrical, cybersecurity, systems, materials science, bio-analysis, sensors and sustainability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest and ability to attract students and external funding in one or more of these areas.
