NRAO and GBO have summer positions available through the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program. Our summer student program has had more than 1,000 participants since 1959. Under the supervision of an NRAO/GBO staff member, each student is assigned a project in line with their educational and career interests.  Positions are available in Charlottesville, VA, Green Bank, WV, and Socorro, NM.  Projects may involve any aspect of astronomy, including astronomical research, instrumentation, telescope design, or software development. Students also participate in an educational program in radio astronomy as well as career development activities throughout the summer.
