The purpose of this notice is to inform you of a job opportunity for a Physicist, GS 1310-14/15 position in the DOE Office of Science, Office of High Energy Physics, Research and Technology Division, Germantown, MD.
The Office of High Energy Physics (HEP) of the Department of Energy has an opening for a program manager to handle HEP’s portfolio of scientific research in experimental searchers for dark matter, including areas of related advanced technology R&D. The major components of this portfolio include: ongoing state-of-the-art direct detection experiments aimed at GeV-scale particle dark matter; directed R&D leading to small- to mid-scale projects searching for dark matter in the laboratory at other energy scales, with novel and cutting-edge techniques; and synergistic fundamental research activities at DOE national labs and universities, such as dark matter phenomenology and simulations applied to specific new search strategies, pre-project R&D programs to advance key technologies such as large noble element detectors, quantum sensors and superconducting cavities, and enabling efficient data-taking and advanced analysis with current experiments.
