Students will participate in an REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) program and learn the skills necessary for a successful scientific career.
Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students in 2-year or 4-year programs as well as senior high school students who have been admitted to a college/university and start an undergrad degree in fall 2023 are encouraged to apply.
Students from Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental Science, Physics, Computer Science, All Engineering Majors, and other related areas are eligible to apply.
Participants learn Machine Learning, Data Science, and Modeling, and their applications to environmental and climate-induced problems.
The program does not require prerequisite courses.
Special seminars will be held to increase students' public speaking and presentation skills.
Special workshops will be held to develop, gain, and improve students' analytical thinking, data analysis, and coding skills.
Students will learn from experience about scientific research and how to apply their academic work to real-world problems.
Students will receive stipend, meal plan, and free housing.
