Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for nine-month, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer of Physics in the Department of Physics beginning August 2023.
Responsibilities
A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching calculus and non-calculus based introductory physics lectures, recitations, and laboratories.
Service to the department, college or university related to instruction, pedagogy, and/or student success.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications for Lecturer and Senior Lecturer Include:
A Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to Physics or a closely related discipline is required.
OR
A Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
Additional Required Qualifications for Senior Lecturer Include:
Demonstrated record of successfully teaching large enrollment university-level Physics courses.
Experience with current evidence-based instructional practices, inclusive pedagogies, and modern instructional technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications Include
Experience with current evidence-based instructional practices, such as active learning.
Evidence of incorporation of inclusive pedagogies and modern instructional technologies into the classroom.
Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
Record of past teaching at the undergraduate university level.
