Postdoctoral positionsinCondensedMatterTheory are available in the group of Professors Elbio Dagotto and Adriana Moreo.
Areas of research are vast. They include in random order (1) Correlated electrons, such as high critical temperature superconductors, (2) Topological materials, particularly in combination with strong correlation, (3) Majoranas in one and two dimensions, static and dynamic, braiding, (4) Moire' systems, (5) Skyrmions and other spin textures, (6) Spin-orbit coupling in its many forms, (7) Quasi one-dimensional chains and ladders, (8) Spin liquids in their many variations, (9) Bulk complex oxides, and many others.
We are primarily interested in candidates with knowledge on computational many-body techniques, particularly Density Matrix Renormalization Group both static and time/omega dependent calculations, Lanczos/Exact Diagonalization, Monte Carlo simulations in its many variations, static and dynamical mean-field, variational approximations, and others. But many-body expertise of any kind will also be seriously considered.
Information about our group can be found inhttp://sces.phys.utk.edu. The main location for this work will be at the UniversityofTennessee. However, our group has a close connection with Oak Ridge National Laboratory where part of the postdoctoral effort could be performed.
To apply, candidates should submit a letter of application + full CV + research interests, all combined in a single PDF, to applications@sces.phys.utk.edu . The candidate should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the same email address. Screening of applicants will start immediately and continue until positions are filled. The candidates should also send their application to the official site of the University of Tennessee https://ut.taleo.net/careersection/ut_system/jobdetail.ftl?job=22000002ME&lang=en
