Observatory Education Scientist
The department of Physics and Astronomy at Western Kentucky University invites applications for the position of Observatory Education Scientist. Minimum qualifications include a MS in Physics, Astronomy or a related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in ground based astronomical observatory operations and automation, maintenance and use of related software and hardware, and public outreach/K-16 education utilizing hands on and remote observatories. They will be expected to take a leading role and actively participate in observatory operations, maintenance and upgrades, observatory E/PO activities and research activities utilizing the 12.5 in on-campus observatory, the 0.7m Bell Observatory and the 1.3m Robotically Controlled Telescope (RCT).
