The Department of Physics at Saint Louis University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, seeks a diverse pool of applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in experimental physics beginning Fall 2022. We are looking for a dynamic hands-on physicist who would engage and work on projects in experimental interdisciplinary physics, be able to collaborate with existing faculty within and outside of the Department. We are particularly interested in the areas of molecular and/or quantum optics, laser physics, quantum information, condensed matter and/or materials science, biophysics, medical physics, nanomedicine/nanomaterials. Outstanding candidates with other areas of specialization in experimental physics will also be considered. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in experimental physics or a closely related field – as well as post-doctoral research experience. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses across the undergraduate and graduate physics curriculum, and be willing to contribute in service commensurate to the rank. Candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to establishing and sustaining an externally-fundable research program. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to undergraduates and graduate students from underrepresented or minority groups.
