Our Strategic Alignment Office Mission is to increase AIP Publishing’s execution effectiveness and enable realization of our strategic objectives by providing and facilitating an enterprise-wide framework to successfully identify, prioritize, and execute a strategically aligned portfolio of project initiatives.
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to performs the critical collaborative function of providing management of a complex portfolio of projects aligned with AIP Publishing’s strategic goals. They take an enterprise view of their programs and how those programs relate to both operations and other strategic initiatives.
As a valued team member of the Strategic Alignment Office (SAO), the Senior Program Manager will contribute to AIPP’s ability to deliver valued business outcomes and data-informed decisions. They will support their Director, SAO colleagues, and key organizational stakeholders in continually exploring how AIP Publishing coordinates and manages program and project delivery to optimize execution and resource allocation.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate and manage program and project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Develop, coordinate, implement, assess, and communicate strategic plans for your program to ensure organizational needs are being met.
- Demonstrate a bias toward ownership, collaboration, and action when identifying and resolving risks, issues, and conflicts within the project team.
- Maintain the necessary program and project artifacts to ensure effective management (e.g., scoping documentation, project plans, issue/risk registers, communication channels, etc.).
- Estimate and coordinate resource needs across your programs and other organizational priorities. Resources may include internal team members, third-party services providers, partners, and external contractors or consultants.
Qualifications:
- B.A. in Management or B.S. in computer science or related area highly desired; MBA preferred, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Agile Frameworks. Business Analyst experience highly desired.
- Knowledge of the academic publishing industry and journal publishing required. Understanding of digital media business models strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to drive project results with experience driving data-led decision making.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills. Ability to build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. Ability to direct and lead teams.
Must reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, RI or Washington, DC. This is a remote opportunity
