The Physics Program in the Department of Physics and Geosciences at Texas A&M University-Kingsville invites applications for a non-tenure-track, full-time position in physics at the Lecturer level, starting Fall 2021.
The successful candidate may be teaching any of the undergraduate physics lectures (including astronomy, solar system, music physics, preparatory physics, college physics, university physics), supervising and teaching undergraduate physics laboratories, and helping to grow our Texas Physics Consortium (TPC) program.
Candidates must have at least 18 graduate hours in physics and demonstrate outstanding skills and enthusiasm for teaching undergraduates.
Teaching experience is greatly valued in the selection process. The capacity to teach in various modalities, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid is preferred. Strong commitment to teamwork and willingness to accept and fulfill committee assignments is expected.
Additionally, the applicant must provide documented evidence of 1) teaching physics at the undergraduate level, 2) utilization of technology in the classroom and/or laboratory, 3) communicating effectively in the English language, and 4) working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity.
Master or PhD degree in physics or some closely related subject.
Experience teaching introductory physics courses in higher educational settings.
