Rigaku Innovative Technologies (RIT) specializes in x-ray optics, especially ultra-precision thin film technology-based x-ray optics. The energy spectrum of these optics ranges from Extreme Ultra-Violet (EUV) for the most advanced semi-conductor technology to hard x-rays for scientific analytical instruments. RIT’s customers are worldwide and come from both academic communities and broad industries. We are seeking a scientist for our Instrumentation Department in order to meet the growing demand in the traditional x-ray analytical instrument market and new market areas such as the semi-conductor industry.

Provide innovative solutions in developing new products and new technologies, especially products and technologies related to x-ray optics and x-ray instruments.
Manage development projects, including working with other departments, especially Coating Department and Engineering Department.
Support Sales and Marketing department by providing technical support to sales activities and marketing activities.
Provide technical support to production activities.
The position is available at different proficiency levels. The offer depends on qualification. The following are required:
Education: Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, material, engineering, or fields with emphasis in physical science and engineering.
Good understanding regarding the theory of x-ray diffraction and x-ray fluorescence.
Good understanding of opto-mechanical design. Knowledge related to the design of x-ray optics and instruments is a plus.
Good knowledge in traditional optical technologies.
Strong modeling capability, both in establishing physical models and mathematical models.
Strong hands-on capability and experience, especially in mechanics, electronics, motion controls and data acquisition.
Knowledge and experience in device/instrument development. Knowledge and experience in the development of x-ray optics are desirable. Should be able to demonstrate past successes in the development of devices/instruments.
Principle driven, attention to details, result oriented, strong work ethic, adequate English for fluent communication.
