Professorship W 3 of Experimental Physics (Chair)
to be appointed as soon as possible.
The department is seeking a candidate with an outstanding research background in transmission electron microscopy. The appointee will strengthen the new interdisciplinary “Regensburg Center for Ultrafast Nanoscopy (RUN)” as well as the department’s priority research field “nanomaterials und quantum matter”. To complement the research methodologies already established in Regensburg in the most synergistic way, we expect the successful candidate to show a strong track record in method development, such as in (cryo-)TEM, as well as having a genuine interest in the development of novel time-resolved and ultrafast techniques. Participation in existing coordinated research programs of the department of physics and in new multidisciplinary initiatives within the RUN is desirable. The successful candidate will fulfill teaching assignments spanning the breadth of experimental physics, and will show willingness to take on administrative responsibilities within the department.
The prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree, the demonstration of teaching skills at the university level, and additional scholarly achievements, such as a habilitation or equivalent academic experience. Scientific research experience gained outside of a university environment, or while employed as a Junior Professor, will also be taken into consideration and may be considered equivalent to a formal academic qualification.
