Postdoctoral Research Fellow- Quantum Sensing
Delaware State University, Dover, DE
The Atom Photonics Lab at Delaware State University is currently seeking an applicant for a postdoctoral position in quantum sensing. This person will work on a DoD funded research project on cold-atom Raman clock and magnetometry, and spin-squeezing enhanced sensitivity. In particular, the person will plan, develop and conduct experiments on cold-atom based Raman clock and magnetometry. This involves developing and operating cold-atom systems, atomic clock development using Raman-Ramsey technique, magnetometry using synchronous coherent population trapping, and developing experimental platforms for implementing spin-squeezing protocols in atomic clock and magnetometry. Additionally, the person will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining various equipment in the laboratory, assist in report writing, teach substitute lectures/laboratory sessions of classes, and provide training and guidance to undergraduate and graduate students working on the project.
Qualifications The individual should have a PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline with working experience in lasers, optics, electronics, and computer interfacing and programming in LabVIEW and Matlab. Familiarity with principles and techniques of atomic and optical physics is also required.
All qualified interest candidates must complete the online application process at https://www.desu.edu
Interested candidates should send a CV and a cover letter describing research experience and contact information for letters of reference, to Dr. Gour Pati (email@example.com).

About Delaware State University
Delaware State University was established in 1891, by the Delaware General Assembly under the provisions of the Morrill Act of 1890 by which land-grant colleges for Blacks came into existence in states maintaining separate educational facilities. The University is among the top premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in the country, while serving a diverse student population.
DSU is made up of four academic colleges. Each degree-granting college specializes in a unique field of study, yet they also frequently work together to offer interdisciplinary degree programs and undertake complex research that contain a total of 18 academic departments, which offers 44 undergraduate degree options, an impressive number for a school our size. We offer18 master’s degree programs and five doctoral degree programs in areas such as interdisciplinary applied mathematics/mathematical physics and educational leadership.
