Assistant Professor of Physics
Marietta College
The Marietta College Physics Department is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2021. The department seeks to attract an energetic faculty member to join an active physics program with a strong commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching of physics in a liberal arts college environment. Candidates from all subfields of physics will be considered, with preference for a specialization in theoretical and/or computational physics. Principal responsibilities include: teaching introductory and advanced undergraduate physics courses; involving undergraduate students in research; active recruitment of physics majors; advising; assisting with an annual summer institute for high school physics teachers; and service on college committees.

The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in physics, or a closely related field, and will establish a research program involving undergraduate students. Members of the Marietta College faculty are expected to possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with college colleagues. A program of continuing professional development is expected.
