Technical University Darmstadt invites applications for a
University Professorship W2 Experimental Quantum Optics in Condensed Matter

at the Department of Physics.
We are looking for a nationally and internationally highly qualified person with a proven track record of high international quality in the research field of experimental quantum optics in condensed matter, i.e., combining photonics, quantum information technology, and solid-state physics. Examples are optical quantum technologies in color centers, doped solids, quantum wells or nano-structures, as well as the development of relevant laser-optical enabling technologies.
We expect the holder of the position to extend and connect the research activities at Technical University Darmstadt in the fields of quantum optics and condensed matter physics and to participate in establishing a research focus on quantum science and technology.
Besides excellent research activities, demonstrated by an excellent doctorate as well as by habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements, corresponding teaching skills as well as the commitment to teach the full program in experimental physics are expected.
The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications, following the German "WBesoldung" and subject to negotiations between the applicant and the university directorate. The regulations for employment are specified under §§ 61 and 62 HHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
