The University of Missouri – Columbia is expanding and adding to its research faculty. The Department of Radiology has an opening for an MRI physicist, all ranks all tracks. An expansion of the radiology research infrastructure is underway through our new alliance with Siemens Healthineers. A new 7T Terra MRI (Siemens) will be located in our new NextGen Precision Health Institute adjacent to the University Hospital. In addition, the Department of Radiology has a 3T Siemens Vida MRI that is dedicated to research 20 hours a week. The department has three 3T and four 1.5T MRI scanners (5 Siemens, 2 GE). This position requires a highly creative individual with exceptional abstract problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to present and publish complex scientific approaches and results in an interdisciplinary field as well as to maintain clear and concise documentation. A PhD in Physics/Medical Physics, Engineering or related field is required as well as experience with design, development and implementation of novel pulse sequences or other MR technical innovations. Experience with high-field MRI is desirable but not required. |
