The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Utah invites applications for an open rank faculty position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics in the broad area of materials physics, including quantum and unconventional materials. The appointment may be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level; rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience. A Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience in physics or a related field is required. Candidates must have an outstanding research record for their experience level and show promise of teaching effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek candidates who also show promise as effective educators and mentors, and who will contribute positively to a diverse and inclusive environment within the department and at the University of Utah. This search is part of a three-position cluster hire for materials physics and chemistry at the University of Utah’s Departments of Chemistry as well as the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
