The Laser and Optics Research Center at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) conducts research in a variety of areas of atomic, molecular and optical physics. To further this research, USAFA is seeking to support postdoctoral fellows in the Air Force Science and Technology Fellowship Program (STFP). The STFP is administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine; the research will be performed at USAFA. Current projects include precision measurement of lifetimes, polarizabilities and matrix elements of atoms, laser cooling of metastable inert gases, diode pumped alkali lasers, and nuclear spectroscopy of Th 229m. Future projects might include high harmonic generation, quantum computing and single mode atom fibers. Eligibility for these postdoctoral fellowships is limited to U.S. citizens. Applications can be submitted through the AF STFP website at nationalacademies.org. Research details can be provided by contacting email@example.com.
