The Center for the Physics of Biological Function is pleased to offer a summer school for advanced undergraduates who are interested in biological physics. The 2020 school is limited to 24 students, and is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The school is a two weeks mix of lectures, tutorials, seminars, problem sessions and small projects of lectures, seminars, and hands-on exercises with two ultimate goals for students:
To build an understanding of how physics problems emerge from thinking about developing embryos, communicating bacteria, dynamic neural networks, animal behaviors, evolution, and more.
To learn how ideas and methods from statistical physics, simulation, data analysis, and imaging connect to diverse biological phenomena.

You will be required to submit a statement of purpose, undergraduate course transcript, and the contact information for one recommendation letter writer.
The school is tuition free. Housing on Princeton campus and meals will be provided for school participants. However, please note that we cannot support travel costs.
The summer school is geared toward third and fourth undergraduate students with a strong background in physics, biophysics, and biological sciences. Minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply. US citizenship or permanent residency is not required.
