Physics: Astrophysics, Physics: Optics and Laser, Physics: Theoretical
A ten-week research program in many exciting areas of physics and astronomy for up to eight students. We are focusing on women and minorities from the Four Corners states and Texas, but undergraduates of all genders and groups nationwide are encouraged to apply.
Travel, food and housing expenses are covered. Students also receive a stipend, as well as support for presenting their REU research at a conference after the summer. Students will also present their work during the summer. There will also be an active social program of outings to research facilities in New Mexico and hikes that take advantage of the state's excellent natural scenery. The department is housed in a beautiful brand-new building with state-of-the-art research labs.
