The Department of Physics at Weber State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2020. We seek a person committed to a career in undergraduate physics teaching, with research expertise in the use of theoretical or computational methods and application of those to physics and/or interdisciplinary problems.
The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) teach courses across the undergraduate curriculum including lower-division and upper-division courses; and 2) establish an active and sustained research program that includes mentoring undergraduate students.
Long-term expectations for faculty members in the department include: 1) seek funding in support of teaching or research where appropriate; 2) contribute to the development of courses and curricula; and 3) work collaboratively with colleagues at Weber State University.
A Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field. Candidates who expect to complete a Ph.D. by the beginning of the Fall 2020 semester also will be considered. Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
