Applications are solicited for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, Engineering, and Astronomy at Austin Peay State University. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position to begin Fall, 2020. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
The Department of Physics, Engineering, and Astronomy is a growing department consisting of ten tenure-track faculty, two staff, and approximately 70 undergraduate majors in three programs: physics, engineering physics, and astrophysics. We have active experimental and computational research in astronomy, condensed matter physics/materials science, and engineering.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and education.
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in physics, engineering, astronomy, or related discipline; ABD will be considered if all requirements are met by date of hire;
At least three (3) years of teaching or equated experience after receiving the appropriate terminal degree shall be required for promotion to Associate Professor;
Documented evidence of high quality professional productivity which may lead to national recognition in the academic discipline, and/or consonant with the goals of the University and of the academic unit to which the faculty member belongs;
Documented evidence of ability in academic assignment and/or scholarly and creative achievement, and/or professional contributions and activities;
Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and professional integrity;
A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
