Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Condensed Matter / Optical Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy (http://www.physics.uiowa.edu) at the University of Iowa invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor to begin August 19, 2020. The position is for a condensed matter experimentalist. An interest in optical spectroscopy, and in use of our materials facilities is desired, including the Materials Analysis, Testing, and Fabrication (MATFab) Facility (https://iowacreates.research.uiowa.edu/matfab-facility), and the Molecular Beam Epitaxy Facility (https://physics.uiowa.edu/mbe-lab); however, the search committee encourages all condensed matter / optical / materials experimentalists to apply. Required qualification include a strong commitment to effective teaching and mentoring students, potential to develop an internationally recognized research program, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to working towards a welcoming and inclusive environment. A Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, or related field is required by August 19, 2020, and postdoctoral experience is desired.
