Summary: The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is seeking an inquisitive, organized and attentive part-time (30 hours a week) Digitization Specialist. This position will work on large- and small-scale digitization projects such as preparing and scanning books, manuscript items, photographs, and other materials.
Other essential functions include but are not limited to:
Digitize materials using a variety of machines including: Zeutschel OS 12000, Epson 10000XL, Epson V550, and Crowley ODS
Process digital images using Adobe Photoshop
Perform quality control on digitized images
Assign metadata and other descriptors to digitized images
Assist in refining digitization and digital object management workflows
Provide production and project statistics to Digital Strategy Archivist and NBL&A team
Provide reference services to NBL&A researchers and patrons.
Other duties and special projects as needed

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of previous experience required (Preferred: experience working in a library/archive environment, experience working with scanning equipment or digitization projects)
Must be able to handle library and archive materials with care
Attention to detail and an ability to follow library policies and procedures
Ability to work collaboratively or independently
Ability to work with computer software (particularly Adobe Photoshop, EPSON Scan, and MS Access, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
