Salesforce Developer, Bureau of IT Strategy and Project Management Senior IT Architect 42-09 28th Street, L.I.C, NY Salary: $100,000.00 - $115,507 (Annual)
The nation's leading local health department seeks a Salesforce Developer join its award-winning, innovative technology team in revolutionizing public health IT. The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) uses the latest technologies and enterprise wide application solutions in its groundbreaking work to promote and protect New Yorkers' health and improve DOHMH's business operations. The Bureau of Technology Strategy & Project Management is committed to provide an enterprise-wide approach to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute a technology portfolio of initiatives and projects that are aligned with the DOHMH strategic goals and public health vision. The bureau's primary responsibility is to manage and control project constraints by ensuring project plans are implemented on schedule, within scope, and budget. Project management leadership is responsible for establishing and implementing best practices for the benefit of the agency in a way that encourages collaboration, standardization, and overall improvement.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: • Specifically, the Salesforce Developer will obtain expert level knowledge about various applications for Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. • Obtain solid understanding of agency business processes. • Obtain knowledge of the organizational structure and culture to help build relationships with key groups. • Excellent communication, motivational, and presentation skills with outstanding project management skills. • Experience working on visualization and data integration projects related to Salesforce using various Integration tools (Pentaho, Denodo or similar), Geo Spatial tools (Open Streetmap, ESRI or similar), Visualization tools (Salesforce Dashboard components, Tableau or similar). • Experience in designing and development data quality checks within enterprise scale solutions. • Lead data integration into and use of Salesforce by programmatic groups throughout the agency. • Analytical skills to respond to requested changes and identify customizations by doing market research in AppExchange and work with Salesforce sales team to research various solutions to meet the new demands considering the scope, budget and timelines. • Support new and existing Salesforce user base with questions and issues in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud & Force.com applications. • Maintain, prioritize and report on user request backlog. • Work with internal customers to gather requirements and implement configuration changes including definition of workflow and approval processes and custom object implementation. • Keep abreast of Salesforce releases, features and best practices. Make recommendations to management regarding implementation as appropriate. • Be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating end-user support requests: 1.Continuing customization and development 2.User maintenance 3.Database de-duping and cleanup 4. Development of reports, report types and dashboards 5.Ongoing system documentation updates.
Design and manage ongoing development of the system to meet the organization's mission: 1.Personally make the change using the application administration tools; or work with Vendor partner. 2.Assist and work with counterparts in DoITT and other city agencies on addressing issues and implementing future enhancements or 3.Submit the request to application vendor and manage the coordination with the vendor's technical resources.
Follow change control processes for version control, testing and deploying configuration changes. Document system configuration and administrative processes.
Minimum Qualification Requirements 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or 2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
Preferred Skills • 3+ years overall experience with managing and supporting IT applications. • 3+ years’ experience performing Salesforce.com configuration, administration and development • Able to gather, document and execute detailed specifications from high-level requirements with little to average amount of supervision • Good project management skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong testing and quality assurance skills • Experience leading and facilitating user group discussions • Experience developing and maintaining training materials and training curriculum • Salesforce.com Administrator and Development Certifications preferred • Advanced expertise in building high performance data integration solutions, including extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) packages • Familiarity with Health sector, non-profit organizations, hospitals and government agencies • A background in R or other statistical packages • A background and experience in Python.
