The Darwin Deason Institute for Cybersecurity (DDI) at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas invites exceptional researchers to apply for a postdoctoral research position. This position provides the opportunity to pursue relevant independent research to benefit DDI while working alongside faculty and staff researchers and student research assistants. All applicants with a cybersecurity or related background who meet the required education, experience and eligibility criteria will be considered. Emphasis will be given to researchers with experience in any of the areas of machine learning, sensor/array processing, or quantum informatics. The successful candidate will be involved in multiple research projects and will assist in proposal preparation for new projects. There will be ample opportunity for publication of results and to pursue a variety of new approaches in the general area of cybersecurity that include the above named subdisciplines.
By the application deadline, applicants must have completed all the requirements for a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree in the physical sciences, life sciences, computational sciences, behavioral sciences, or engineering. Applicants who intend to defend their dissertation after the application deadline are not eligible.
U.S citizenship is required due to the conditions of the current research projects with which the applicant will be involved.
Applicants must demonstrate exceptional qualifications with respect to academic and scholarly achievement, as evidenced by research and publication.
Candidates are expected to have conducted research on a major scientific or engineering problem during their thesis work or have provided a new approach or insight, evidenced by a recognized impact in their field.
