RadiaSoft is seeking a PhD computational scientist or engineer to conduct basic and applied research, as well as contract R&D, for a variety of federal, academic and commercial customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
Timely and correct completion of assignments with minimal oversight is expected, in both individual and team settings. The position also requires presentation of work at conferences, collaboration with a wide range of academic collaborators and commercial customers, publication in refereed journals, preparation of project reports and assistance in writing proposals for future funding. It is necessary to meet short-term deadlines and to exceed customer expectations within budget.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful applicant will have a PhD in physics or a closely related field, strong software development skills, and experience in simulating electromagnetic fields, charged particle dynamics or nanoscale materials. Other desirable skills and experience include: a track record of high-quality technical publications and conference presentations, demonstrated proposal writing success, effective use of machine learning techniques to solve scientific problems, experience with collaborative and open source software development projects, experience with large-scale parallel computing and multiple approaches to parallel software development, particle accelerator design, experience with LAMMPS or ALE3D or similar codes, or experience with COMSOL Multiphysics.
