The University of Wyoming invites diverse applicants to consider a full time lecturer position in the Department of Physics & Astronomy that starts in spring 2019. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience working with diverse populations and/or diverse initiatives. Teach 3/3 courses during Spring/Fall terms. Teach introductory courses in physics/astronomy, mostly for non-majors. Supervise teaching assistants who are assigned for laboratory and discussion components. Depending on the department’s needs, opportunities may arise for teaching upper level courses for those interested.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's in Physics/Astronomy or a closely related discipline. Candidates should possess good communication skills and have recent experience teaching introductory physics or astronomy courses. Ability and interest to engage students in excellent teaching at the undergraduate level is desired.
Desired Qualifications: PhD in Physics/Astronomy or a closely related discipline. Ability to teach upper level courses and graduate courses and experiences in curriculum development and mentoring students will be considered as added strengths.
