: We are seeking an innovative Aerospace Systems Engineer to build and lead teams developing next\-generation, multi\-mission satellites and sensor payloads for the Global Security Remote Sensing \(GSRS\) business area\. Your background and capability in building relationships will be essential in this role\. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Lead the creation of advanced satellite concepts and operational pathfinders that address national security challenges\.+ Lead multi\-disciplinary teams to: - refine and validate conceptual designs and develop mission\-traceable requirements using model\-based systems engineering \(MBSE\)\.- develop physics\-based models that represent satellite concepts within customer\-accredited modeling and assessment frameworks and design reference missions\.+ Develop presentations, simulations, white papers and proposals for internal and external customers\.+ Represent Sandia's excellence by presenting technical results to the national security community\. Required: + You will have a Ph\.D\. degree or Master's degree with 5 years' experience in Physics or an Engineering Discipline pertinent to developing remote sensing platforms and sensor payloads\.+ Your experience will include modeling sensor platform dynamics using Matlab or Simulink\.+ You can obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance with SCI, which may require a polygraph examination\. Desired: Your background should also include: + Advanced degree \(Masters or PhD\) in Aerospace Engineering\.+ Background with satellite systems engineering\.+ Expertise in modeling remote sensing systems or phenomenology\.+ Experience modeling optical or RF satellite communications \(SATCOM\)\.+ Experience with satellite ground systems, data centers, or operations centers\.+ Experience designing complex systems using Simulink and Stateflow\.+ Validated capability to develop and present ideas and results in oral, written and graphical forms\.+ Confirmed ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment\.+ Current TS/SCI\.
