Applications are invited for tenure-track appointment as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Bioinformatics in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science jointly offered by the Faculty of Science and the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, to commence on January 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a joint appointment between the Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science of the Faculty of Science and the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, with the former as the home department. The post will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year appointment.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Statistics/Biostatistics/Computer Science with knowledge in Bioinformatics/Biology, and research areas including but not limited to big data analytics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, and public health.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
