The Department of Physics, University of Regensburg, invites applications for a
Professorship W3 of Experimental Physics (Chair) to be appointed as soon as possible
The aim of this appointment is to strengthen the activities of the department in the current research priority field “physics of nanostructures”. The research focus of the candidate is expected to lie in the area of condensed matter physics with a focus on recent topical developments, e.g. in the field of magnetism or 2D-materials. Participation in the Collaborative Research Center 1277 on “Emergent relativistic phenomena in condensed matter” or in other coordinated research programs of the department is desirable. The successful candidate will take up teaching assignments spanning the breadth of experimental physics, and will show willingness to take on administrative responsibilities within the department.
The prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree, the demonstration of teaching skills at the university level, and additional scholarly achievements, such as a habilitation or equivalent academic experience. Scientific research experience gained outside of a university environment, or while employed as a Junior Professor, will also be taken into consideration and may be considered equivalent to a formal academic qualification.
