Williams College Department of Physics invites applications for a one-year, full-time visiting position at the assistant professor level, starting fall semester 2018, with the possibility of a one-year renewal. A Ph.D. is required; postdoctoral research experience is preferred. We seek an energetic individual who is eager to teach undergraduates. Interest in involving undergraduates in research is a plus, and funds to support those efforts will be available. The college enrolls a broadly diverse student population, so we are especially interested in candidates from underrepresented groups and in individuals who can effectively teach and mentor students from a wide variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Women and candidates of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
Information about the Physics Department can be found at physics.williams.edu. Applications should be submitted via Interfolio (apply.interfolio.com/50114) and should include a c.v., a statement of teaching interests, a brief summary of research interests, and at least two letters of reference. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. All offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background check.
