Hampden-Sydney College is a selective liberal arts college for men enrolling about 1100 students. The college has been in continuous operation since 1775 and is situated on 1300 acres in central Virginia 60 miles west of Richmond, VA.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy anticipates an opening for a full-time two-year replacement with the possibility of renewal at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August 2018. The department currently has five full-time faculty members, whose research interests include high-energy astrophysics, AMO physics, condensed matter physics, acoustics, and astronomy.
We are seeking an energetic individual with a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level, with a Ph.D. in physics, applied physics or related fields, preferred.
