Eckerd College, the only independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of innovative education and teaching/mentoring excellence. The Physics Discipline is composed of four faculty members and graduates a small number of majors each year, with a few others matriculating into a 3/2 engineering program. The introductory sequence reaches well beyond students in our discipline: most are studying the Marine Sciences or Biology.
The application should include a cover letter articulating the candidate's interest in teaching at a liberal arts institution, a statement of teaching philosophy indicating how the candidate engages introductory students who are not Physics majors, a CV, teaching evaluations, graduate transcripts, and contact information for three individuals who will be solicited by us for a letter of recommendation. The application must be uploaded to https://eckerd.hirecentric.com/jobs . Applications, including the letters of recommendation, must be completed by April 4, 2018, and review of applications will begin on March 29th. Inquiries may be sent to Professor Stephen Weppner at email@example.com. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for the College. Eckerd College is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity among its faculty. We particularly encourage applications from nontraditional candidates.
