Job Summary: The Physics and Astronomy Department at Ohio Northern University invites applications for a position of visiting assistant professor of physics, beginning in the fall of 2018. The department offers B.S. and B.A. degrees in physics with concentrations in physics or astronomy, and a B.S. degree in applied physics.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in physics and a strong interest in pursuing effective teaching and engaging students in undergraduate research. The current research interests of the department include: plasma physics, solid state, extragalactic astronomy, quantum mechanics, and optics. The successful applicant is expected to develop a strong research program and to maintain a sustained level of scholarly activity. Academic responsibilities include teaching introductory and upper level courses offered by the department.
