The Physics Department at North Central College invites applications for a 3-year visiting faculty position to begin September 2018. This position is a non-tenure track full-time appointment that can be renewable annually for up to three years.
Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, a statement of research interests including plans for involving undergraduate students, graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation.
Founded in 1861, North Central College is a selective, comprehensive liberal arts institution of about 3000 students, located 28 miles west of Chicago in Naperville, IL, in the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor near both Argonne National Laboratory and Fermilab. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field; postdoctoral experience is preferred. Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and be willing to teach throughout the physics curriculum. Candidates who can successfully engage undergraduates in research will be given strongest consideration. All research specialties will be considered.
