The Department of Physics and Astronomy of Hunter College of the City University of New York invites applicants for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor in physics with an academic year salary range of $ 47,340-$81,855. The expected starting date is August, 2018. The Department is especially interested in candidates with expertise in experimental biophysics, although candidates in theoretical or computational biophysics or condensed matter experiment or theory will be considered. The successful candidate should have an earned Ph.D., demonstrate strong scholarship, the ability to teach successfully, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. The candidate will be expected to initiate an externally funded vigorous research program and involve graduate and undergraduate students in their research.
