We are committed to excellence in research, implementing best practice models for the selection, training, monitoring and mentoring of promising young scientist. We are committed to generating added value by bringing together bright minds... from complementary fields.
VDS Physics offers research opportunities in experimental, theoretical or computational physics. The VDS Fellows benefit from supervision by experts in topical areas of research in physics and belong to a selected and therefore visible community of young scientists. VDS Fellows have a regular employment at the University of Vienna. Since this money is often provided through 3rd party grants, fellows can only be accepted into VDS if we find a match with a funding thesis supervisor.
VDS Physics provides support for travel and networking, it offers a range of activities to encourage the exchange of ideas among the doctoral fellows. VDS Fellows can participate in transferable skills training and career development. English is the language of communication.
We seek highly qualified candidates who are eager to pursue cutting-edge research in physics. VDS Fellows are selected according to their academic excellence, scientific achievements, expected potential for future research, independent of gender, race, religion or nationality.
