Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position
The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Portland State University seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are especially interested in applicants with research agendas that are internationally recognized, regionally relevant and complement our existing research programs. The positions are part of a hiring initiative to grow our research in sensing and monitoring of ocean, lake and riverine environments.
The candidate is expected to collaborate closely with other faculty to attract and execute funded research. We are especially interested in candidates with the ability to develop and deploy underwater sensing systems. Some of the research areas that would support this effort include autonomous systems, signal processing, controls, machine learning, underwater vehicles and acoustic sensing. An earned Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, is required.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is committed to excellence in both undergraduate and graduate education. The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong passion for undergraduate and graduate education and proven teaching skills. The Department has ABET-accredited B.S. degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs.
