Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories is a not-for-profit applied research institution focused on cutting-edge research and development of quantum technologies. Quantum Valley Ideas Laboratories is tackling the ambitious goal of accelerating quantum technologies from proof-of-concept to real-world commercializable solutions. We are searching for three engineers or physicists to fill technical assistant positions.
We are interested in hiring candidates who want to work on a research team and have a passion for application-driven research in the area of quantum technologies. The successful candidates must also be willing to learn a broad range of skills and take part in finding the solution to open-ended problems. Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, optics or a closely related field. Additional experience, such as work in the advanced technology sector or a master’s or doctoral degree obtained through laboratory research, is preferred. The successful applicants will work under a project lead and two staff scientists along with a small team of engineers. Highly desired skills are: AI programming with an emphasis on complex control problems; fabrication, especially involving glass and ceramics; FPGA programming; electronics; optics; CAD design and modelling; laser spectroscopy and fibre optics. Applicants do not have to have experience in all of these areas, but should emphasize interests and relevant experience in their application. A demonstrated ability to successfully work in a close team environment is required. We value inquisitiveness and problem solving.
