The Department of Physics at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in biomedical physics beginning in August 2018. The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous, independent and externally funded research program, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and participate in professional service. The Department offers BS and MS degrees in physics and the PhD degree in biomedical physics; the MS program in medical physics is CAMPEP accredited. There are active theoretical, experimental and computational research programs with an emphasis on biomedical applications of optics, spectroscopy and ionizing radiation. A PhD in physics or an equivalent degree and at least one year of relevant postdoctoral research experience are required. The appointment is expected to be at the assistant professor level; exceptionally qualified candidates with active funding may be considered for appointment at a higher academic rank.
