Perimeter Institute invites applications for three tenure track faculty positions (equivalent to the level of assistant professor) in theoretical condensed matter theory, two tenure track faculty positions in quantum information science and two tenure track faculty positions in particle physics. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for tenured senior faculty positions.
We welcome applications from outstanding individuals working on all aspects of theoretical particle physics with emphasis on beyond the Standard Model physics. We especially encourage research connecting fundamental theory with experiment. The successful applicants will play a leading role in integrating Perimeter's particle physics activities with the other research areas at the Institute, such as cosmology, astrophysics, strong gravity, quantum field theory and string theory. These positions are also part of an initiative at the Institute to establish the “Centre for the Universe,” which will focus on theoretical cosmology and making connections to experiment.
As part of a new Quantum Matter Initiative at Perimeter, which is expected to grow into a Centre for Quantum Matter at the Institute, Perimeter is also searching to fill two tenure track faculty positions in Quantum Information Science as well as Condensed Matter Theory. The successful applicants will play a leading role in integrating Perimeter's quantum information and condensed matter theory activities respectively with the other research areas at the Institute. Applications are welcome from outstanding individuals working on quantum condensed matter, highly entangled systems, quantum criticality, topological phases, non-equilibrium dynamics, synthetic quantum matter, and all related fields. Applications from outstanding individuals working on aspects of quantum information related to fundamental theoretical physics are welcomed as well.
Perimeter Institute is a leading global centre for fundamental research in theoretical physics. The successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in theoretical physics or a closely related field, postdoctoral experience, and will have demonstrated exceptional strength in independent research.
