We invite applications for two tenure-track faculty position in physics starting as early as fall 2018. Appointments at all ranks will be considered, but the preference is for junior faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates in all fields who value a balance between teaching and research are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in candidates who specialize in the areas of acoustics or observational astrophysics. Successful candidates, including those who specialize in our top areas of interest, will show promise as someone who will be able to take ownership of, develop, and teach a variety of physics courses including required courses for physics majors at the upper division level. About Physics Department, United States Naval Academy
The USNA Physics Department has about 25 civilian faculty who are tenured or on a tenure-track. The department teaches about 1000 students per year and graduates about 25 - 35 majors per year. Research and teaching are both high priorities for all tenured or tenure-track faculty.
