The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, invites applications and nominations for a tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate level to start in Fall 2018. Research areas of particular interest include any area within the field of computer engineering. This nine-month, full-time position will carry a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
New faculty members will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer engineering; advise graduate and undergraduate students; conduct innovative research; and provide service to the department, the university, and the professional community.
A successful candidate will have a doctorate in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related discipline, by the start date of the position; the potential to develop a vibrant sponsored research program; the ability to effectively teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and the interest to serve the department, university, and professional community.

Teach courses in the area of computer engineering- Provide intellectual leadership and excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computer engineering, and develop new courses at the graduate level within the candidate’s area of research focus. 40%
Research - Expected to lead a robust, internationally-recognized, externally funded research group. Includes submitting proposals to sponsors for funding, providing oversight, compliance, and completion of tasks on all funded awards; and provide oversight of Research Scientists, Research Associates, and students who may be working on research grants. Also expected to present research results at prestigious conferences and publish in leading peer-reviewed journals. 50%
Service and Outreach - Pursue scholarly activities, serve the academic community, and contribute to university outreach. Serve on department, college, and university level committees where appropriate. 10%
Required qualifications: A PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related discipline, by the start date of the position. Research focus in any areas within the field of computer engineering.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has 25 faculty members, 450 undergraduates, and 200 graduate students. It has research programs in Communications and Signal Processing; Computer Engineering; Lasers, Optics, and Applications; Controls and Robotics; and Electromagnetics and Remote Sensing. The department participates in the CSU Information Science and Technology Center, the CSU-CHILL National Radar Facility, and the NSF Engineering Research Center for Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere.
