The Department of Physics and Astronomy at East Tennessee State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, to start in August 2018. The Department is seeking candidates with excellence in both teaching and research, with a commitment to undergraduate education. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a vigorous independent research program with strong potential for external funding, and make efforts to secure such funding. Since the Department is undergraduate-only, involving undergraduate majors in research is a high priority. Candidates with expertise in experimental or computational physics are especially encouraged to apply, but outstanding candidates working in all areas will be considered. A Ph.D. in Physics or a related field and post-doctoral experience are required, along with a strong research record. ETSU is located in Johnson City, Tennessee, in the beautiful southern Appalachian region.
