The Department of Physics and Astronomy/SAS at Rutgers University plans to hire a Postdoctoral Associate funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in the field of experimental condensed matter physics. This postdoctoral associate position is funded through the Moore Foundation’s Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems (EpiQS) initiative. The position’s anticipated duration is for two years with a possible extension to third year upon mutual agreement. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with Rutgers experimental and theory faculty engaged in strongly correlated quantum matter. This position is geared towards development of novel artificial topological matter with strong correlations by laser MBE and characterization by photoelectron spectroscopies. In addition, familiarity with basic transport and magnetic measurements is an asset. Applicants are requested to provide a CV, cover letter, and a minimum of two letters of recommendation. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics or material science by the start date of the position (Oct. 1, 2017) and demonstrate excellence in research and strong communication skills.
